Here are some things you should do in advance:
- Learn about community resources and emergency services and keep on your smartphone
- Have a plan with your family about what to do and where to meet if a disaster strikes
- Build an emergency kit and a car kit
- Store copies of all emergency documents in another secure location in case you can not access your home or office
