Sad child Each year more than 3,300 children under 5 years of falling windows, suffering from injuries serious enough to send to the hospital; Unfortunately, about eight children per year die from these falls. To increase awareness of the risks, the National Security Council, window and door industry professionals and other advocates of child safety has formed the Working Group on Security Window. Each year, the Working Group sponsors National Window Safety Week.

The most obvious risk is children falling from windows that are not guaranteed. Safe has a good tip sheet for the prevention of child's fall. The screens are of no help, they can not break a fall.
