Following fatal car accident his daughter, longtime Columbus presenter Dom Tiberi has found a way to turn his pain into a force for good. The 10TV presenter that by the foundation Message Maria, a campaign named for his late daughter who demand a commitment to avoid distractions while driving. Maria Tiberi was only 21 when an unknown distraction caused her to crash her car.
Since that time, Dom helped raise thousands of high school students about the dangers of distracted driving. He also helped state lawmakers in Ohio say September as Distracted Driving Month.
And his efforts are stronger than ever. On Monday, April 27, Dom, and other speakers 10TV Jerry Revish and Kristyn Hartman, officers from the Westerville Police Department and other special guests will give an interactive presentation about distracted driving.
During this presentation, participants will learn about the message of Maria and get tips to avoid driver distraction. They'll also have a chance to take a message of commitment Maria and practice their driving skills on one of the driving simulators.
The event begins April 27 to 19 hours Fritsche Theatre at Otterbein University in Westerville. Tickets for the event are free, but there is limited seating. Visit the event website for more information and to register.
