The sun rose brightly over Elmira, NY on October 8 morning employees and agents representing New York branch ERIE and several local agencies packaged and delivered food for meals on Chemung County. At the heart of their efforts was both a sense of community and service.
"Meals on Wheels supports the health and well-being of their neighbors with compassion and exceptional service. It reflects ERIE philosophy of" Above All Service ', "said District Sales Manager Mark Schafer, who worked with ERIE Peter Wallin agent Wallin insurance Agency to organize the event. "We are actively involved and committed to the communities we do business. Our employees live in these cities, and our agents are owners of small local businesses."
Wallin is on the map of local meals Wheels. At his instigation, the agents of the Agency and W. J. Farmer Insurance Agency Piper - and sales of ERIE, claims and corporate groups - meals for seniors packed. The team then formed a caravan of cars ERIE brand-packaged to hit the streets of Elmira and deliver food.
"Thanks to Meals on Wheels, seniors can stay in their homes, and we know they 're getting, healthy and balanced meals," said Wallin. "We got to take our insurance hats and put on our hats volunteers for the day to support our local community."
