In an effort to help Americans to recycle and eliminate medicines correctly, national Community pharmacists Association (NCPA) and Sharps Compliance Inc. has launched a website called DisposeMyMeds.com helpful. The site will help people find places where they can dispose of unwanted medications without risk of contaminating water sources.

Joseph H. Harrison, president of NCPA and the owner of the pharmacy, said: "Safe disposal programs and practices make a real difference in the fight against this growing concern for public health. I commend these pharmacies to intensify for the good of their communities and their patients. And, hopefully, consumers will benefit from a greater appreciation for their local community pharmacy. "
