March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Each year about 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer and more than 50,000 people die. It affects men and women and the risks increase with age. Over 0% of calls occur in people 50 years and older.
According to the CDC, if everyone who is 50 or older were screened regularly, as much as 60% of deaths from this cancer could be avoided.
