If you plan a trip to a holiday home, it is a good idea to think about insurance coverage before you leave. Whether you plan to vacation in a vacation home or visit a timeshare, a rental property or a home exchange, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) offers helpful staycation and insurance considerations goods.
It is a good idea to check your policy to be clear about the extent of what they will and will not cover as you travel and stay in some type of temporary accommodation - usually a political owners will extend coverage for your personal belongings.
